WOMEN'S MENTORSHIP
2024 Edition
What is the women's mentorship?
The women's mentorship is an activity meant to initiate women to fly fishing by sharing an immersive experience with mentors on the river.
For a second year, the Women's Mentorship is organized in collaboration with Les Chèvres de montagne. Les Chèvres de montagne is the largest women's outdoor community in Canada. So we're very proud to be joining forces with this formidable and dynamic team.
The aim of the women's mentoring program is to offer you a unique experience, far removed from the pressure to perform, in a friendly, all-inclusive atmosphere.
Who is it for?
This mentorship is for all curious women who want to acquire new knowledge and discover more about the fascinating world of fly fishing and salmon fishing. The activity is aimed at women who have never touched a fly rod before, as well as new salmon anglers (5 days fishing or less) who don't yet feel comfortable fishing on their own.
2024 Edition
For this edition, the women's mentorship will be taking place in the Bas-Saint-Laurent on the beautiful Mitis River, August 1 to August 4, 2024.
This river flows 51 kilometers north from Lac Mitis to join the St. Lawrence River at Sainte-Flavie. Salmon frequent the river for 46 kilometers up to an impassable drop of a dozen meters near Lac Mitis. This winding river, with its lightly colored waters, is easily accessible via a number of well-maintained trails.
As part of this mentoring activity, we want you to experience all that is fishing and the great outdoors. So we've put together a very special first day to get you off to a great start. On the menu: body activation with a friendly hike or jog, outdoor yoga session, foraging workshop, prevention workshop, striped bass fishing and bbq on the beach. Then it's on to salmon fishing for two days on the river on Saturday and Sunday. Experienced mentors will accompany you every day.
At the end of the day, we gather for a festive aperitif to recount all our magical highlights of the day!
We'll be camping in a yurt on the edge of a lake just a short drive from the Rivière Mitis, an enchanting setting and a unique all-inclusive package.
