REEL CONTEST
The famous PALM real contest is back for a 3rd edition!
Share your passion for fly fishing and show the essence of this unique activity by assembling your best images from the past season.
Participation Criteria
Fly fishing activity: Whatever the species, the important thing is to show the activity in an authentic and respectful way.
Respect of responsible catch-and-release practices: If you choose to use catch-and-release videos, make sure they represent responsible practices (see our page on good catch-and-release practices).
Format: The reel must be shot in 9:16 vertical format, ideal for social platforms, and have a maximum duration of 5 minutes.
Selection and Finale
The PALM organizing committee will select 5 reels to be presented at the finale on March 21, 2025 in Quebec City. The winner will be determined by a public vote on that evening.
Prize
The grand prize winner will receive a $150 gift card to Boutique Salmo Nature and a $150 gift certificate to a Réseau ZEC destination!
Send your reel (one reel per participant) and the title of your work by e-mail to communication@saumonquebec.com.
Applications will be accepted from February 19, 2025 to March 7, 2025 at noon.
PHOTO CONTEST
After its dazzling success last year, the photo contest returns for a second year at the PALM Festival!
The PALM Photo Contest invites photographers to capture the essence of fly fishing, with an emphasis on best practices.
Participation Criteria
Fly fishing activity: The photo must highlight the activity of fly fishing, whether it's the action of fishing or the release of a fish.
Respect of responsible catch-and-release practices: If you choose to submit a catch-and-release photo, only photos illustrating respectful practices will be accepted (see our page on good catch-and-release practices).
Avoid traditional clichés: Photos of people posing with their fish will not be accepted unless they are original.
Format: Your photo must be in 3:2 (or 2:3) format and exported in high resolution (300dpi).
Selection and Finale
A committee will select 10 photos to be exhibited at PALM events in Quebec. The winner will be chosen by public vote at the grand finale on March 21, 2024.
Prize
The grand prize winner will receive a $150 gift card to Boutique Salmo Nature and a $150 gift certificate to a Réseau ZEC destination!

Short film category
Submissions for the short film category are now closed for the 2025 edition.
Submissions for the 2026 edition will open in March 2025.
